Adult Tap, Inspirations Program

Samantha Sadwin began her dancing career at the age of seven studying ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics.  During her 12 years of study she performed, competed and assistant taught.  From a young age Samantha knew she wanted to be a dance educator and continue to work with and inspire young dancers.  She chose to further develop her dance career by going for her Bachelors in dance with a minor in Psychology at Dean College.  Samantha is presently a rising Junior at Dean College studying ballet, jazz, modern, tap and hip hop as well as dance composition, creative movement, and pedagogy with anticipation to graduate in May of 2018.  She was recently awarded the Drusilla Carlson Phelps Memorial Scholarship.  Samantha was recognized for her achievements and her bright future in dance education.  Samantha's favorite part of what she does is being able to work with young, aspiring dancers and to share her love for dance with them. She is incredibly excited to be teaching hip hop, ballet and tap at Inspire Dance Academy. 

Ellen Oliver

Ballet, Contemporary, Preschool Dance


Ellen Oliver is a performer, choreographer, teacher and filmmaker currently based in Providence, RI.  Ellen has studied as a summer student at Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and on full scholarship at Perry Mansfield School of Theatre and Dance. She studied ballet and contemporary dance in high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and received a Bachelor's of Arts at Hampshire College and the Five College Dance Department where she also focused on Latin American studies. Her choreography and dance films have been shown in New England and abroad, and she is currently dancing in Ali Kenner Brodsky & Co. Ellen is very excited to join the Inspire Dance Academy team, and she is inspired by all of her students.

Amanda opened Inspire Dance Academy in 2011 to create a space for young dancers to train in and be inspired by the art of dance. Amanda comes from a diverse dance background, but specializes in ballet and modern dance. Dancing since a very young age, she pursued dance at Columbia College in Chicago and Rhode Island College where she received her B.A. in Dance in 2008.  Amanda has danced professionally with Fusionworks Dance Company, Lostwax Multimedia Dance Theater and Ali Kenner Brodsky & Company. Amanda finds joy in sharing her passion for dance with her students while incorporating her knowledge and experience in her dance instruction. Amanda has years of experience teaching dance in public schools and dance studios throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Amanda has worked with students in school settings, creating curriculum based dances through Fusionworks Dance Companies outreach programs. Amanda has been teaching dance for over 10 years and truly loves what she what she does. For her, the most rewarding part of the day is seeing the joy in her students faces while they are dancing.

Meghan Kinney is a former student of Inspire Dance Academy and a graduate of Bridgewater State University. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and has studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and musical theater. Meghan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, concentrating in severe special needs. She currently is teaching in the North Attleboro school system. For the past nine years, she has held leadership positions in organizations such as Best Buddies, BSU Buddies, and the YMCA’s Teen Social Group, which all foster friendships between children and teens of all abilities. She has also previously taught dance and musical theater with the Movement Arts Program for Students with Disabilities. Meghan is beyond excited to be back at Inspire as a teacher and to share her love of dance with her students!

Kim Milo has trained in tap, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, modern and ballet.  She has studied locally in area studios and began her tap dance studies under the direction of a former Rockette's protege. In addition, Kim has attended master classes and conventions with Broadway Dance Center, Dance Olympus and Dance Masters of America. Kim has performed locally in theater productions and musicals, ensemble groups and state competitions. Kim's passion for tap was apparent the day she put on her first pair of tap shoes and that love still continues through her dedication to her students. Kim specializes in teaching adult tap classes and welcomes brand new beginners as well as seasoned tappers into the beginner and intermediate level classes. As a lifelong learner herself, Kim enjoys attending tap workshops and classes to bring new techniques and creative choreography to her students.

It is Inspire Dance Academy's mission to provide high quality, affordable dance training to children and adults in our community.  Our class sizes are small to ensure that each student receives the individual attention they need in order to develop proper skill and technique. Our instructors are educated dance professionals with years of experience in the field. As teachers, it is our goal to provide a safe and stress free learning environment where our students can excel as well as develop an appreciation and love for dance.
 

Meghan Stanton began her dancing career at the age of 2 studying ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, tap and modern. After she graduate high school, Meghan pursued a Bachelor of Arts in dance at Bridgewater State University. Along with her dance technique classes, Meghan took many classes that focused on pedagogic practices, methodology, and choreographic elements. Meghan was involved in BSU dance company, Dance Ensemble, the Greek organization, Alpha Sigma Tau and founded the National Dance Education Organization Student Chapter. Meghan conducted research during her last two years at Bridgewater State University, where she hopes to provide an athletic trainer specialized in dance for the students. Currently, Meghan is pursuing her Masters of Science in Athletic Training at Bridgewater State University and wants to specialize in working with dancers. She is excited to join the Inspire Dance Academy team and to inspire young students to pursue their love of dance.
